about the author

A.P. MORTON WRIGHT

A.P. Morton Wright is a one of a kind in narrating stories, giving true-life experiences of childhood in his life through emotional and full stories. He was born on October 22, 1970, in Nottinghamshire, England, and grew up in Chilwell, the very place that gives inspiration to Davey and Peter. Through his stories, he heavily uses his memories as his foundation giving the reader a close-up view of the world he used to live in.

Interestingly, he never intended to be an author. He was not much attracted to reading or writing as a child. Although he liked simple and imaginative stories such as Mr. Men, he had more interests in physical activity and adventure. This zest of life is also very evident in his writing, particularly in the vibrant and dynamic characters of Davey and Peter.

During his childhood and youthful years, A.P. Morton Wright was quite active in sports. Judo and gymnastics to football, cricket, and Trampolining, he led an active life with a passion. He went to the extent of competing in national level Trampolining championships. In addition to sports, he tried different professions, working in leisure, education, photography, and manual labor, which have made him open-minded about his life.

His journey into writing began unexpectedly during a conversation with his partner who was writing her own book. As they discussed her project, he suddenly had a lightbulb moment about his own childhood memories and said, ‘I bet I can write a book.’ What began as an unplanned thought soon turned into Davey and Peter, a reminiscent of his childhood memories, personality, and insatiable energy.
